Apple Pie Waffles

Make an apple pie-like topping in the microwave, the pour over freezer waffles

Follow this link for the recipe:

Apple Pie Waffles

• 2 large apples
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• 1T melted butter
• 1T flour
• ¾ cup apple juice
• ¼ cup sugar (or less to taste)
• Pinch of salt
• 8 Eggos or similar toaster waffles

Night before:
Chop apples (may peel or not, to taste). Toss with lemon juice, add melted butter and toss, add flour and toss, stir in remaining ingredients. Refrigerate.

Next morning:
Heat the waffles per package directions. Put apple mixture in microwave proof bowl and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Stir, and cook for additional 2 minutes if needed to soften the apples. Top the waffles with the apple mixture and some maple syrup if you want.

NOTES:
Add more apple juice if you want more syrupy apples.
