Quick easy, and one the kids like every time.   The adults too.

Ham Steak and Rye Cheese Toast
- Good ham steak, 4 oz or more per person
 - 2 slices of really good rye bread per person - in San Diego, Bread and Cie has a wonderful corn rye
 - 2T shredded cheddar cheese per person
 - Apple wedges (optional, but really good)
 
Night before:
Nothing needed
Next morning:
Saute the ham in a bit of butter.
Toast bread with cheese on it in toaster oven or broil in
oven.
Slice apple
Serve.
NOTES:
Nice combination of tastes - you can even put it all
together and make a sandwich of it, including the apples.
