Cheese toast - simplest ever

Nutrituous, really simple, children love it.  5 minutes in the morning.

Follow this link for recipe:
Cheese toast:

• 2 pieces whole wheat bread per person, or one if a dieter or a child.
• Cheddar cheese - I like white, but any will do. Costco has a STRONG white cheddar that I love, and you can get more flavor with less cheese. Slice thinly or grate.

Night before:
Nothing to do, other than maybe slice cheese

Next morning:
Put cheese on bread, toast in toaster oven.  OR, put in smallest oven you have, with rack in the middle, and set the oven for 350 degrees.  As it preheats, your bread will toast and cheese will melt. Watch it so it does not burn.
Serve with sliced apples, applesauce or grapes

Notes:
Orowheat's Health Nut bread is particularly good for this.
Do NOT use non-fat cheese, or cheese food - use REAL cheese.
Variations: before you add the cheese, put on the bread one or more of the following:
  • chopped ham
  • canned deviled ham spread
  • finely chopped tomatoes
  • thinly sliced pears or apples
I also use one slice of this for my late afternoon “I could eat an entire bag of Cheetos” snack, satisfying but not too filling
