Ham and cheese biscuits

Failproof, very quick and easy, nutritious.  Kids love these.

Follow this link for the recipe:
Ham and Cheese Biscuits

• 2 cups Bisquick (heart healthy or regular)
• ½ cup wheat germ
• ½ cup diced ham (the tiny pre-diced ham that John Morrell and others makes works well)
• ½ cup shredded cheddar
• 2/3 cup water

Night before:

Mix Bisquick, wheat germ, diced ham and cheddar in a bowl. Grease a cookie sheet, or line with Silpat or parchment paper.

Next morning:

Preheat oven to 450°. Pour water into Bisquick mixture, stir just until no dry mix shows. Drop by large spoonfuls onto prepared pan, spacing them to accommodate rising. Bake until lightly browned, typically 7 – 9 minutes.
Makes a dozen drop biscuits.

NOTES:

• Serve with fruit.
• These are best straight out of the oven. They also heat well for afternoon snack.

  1. I don't have wheat germ. Can I just add 1/2 more of flour?

  2. Wheat germ is just an additive, like the ham. You can leave it out altogether.
