Overnight Museli

Muesli is a dish found on European breakfast buffets, particularly in Austria, Germany and the Scandinavian countries.  It is typically served at room temperature.  When made with cream, it is luscious, but insanely high fat and calories.  This version is equally delicious, but very, very good for you as well.  It will stick with you all morning.

Follow this link for the recipe:

Overnight Muesli
• ¾ cup rolled or quick oats

• 1 cup milk
• 1 cup yogurt (nonfat, low fat or full fat) – vanilla or fruit
• 3 T sugar (optional)
• ½ cup nuts – chopped almonds or pecans
• 1 grated apple
• ¾ cup blueberries, other berries, chopped fruit or whatever

Night before:
Mix all but berries, cover, leave on counter overnight

Next morning:
Stir in berries or chopped fruit, serve.

NOTES:
• Variation – add chopped dried fruit (dates, peaches, apples, anything you wish the night before.
• Raisins are a nice addition to this
• Add 1 tsp almond extract, use chopped almonds in the muesli, and add fresh chopped peaches in the morning. Heavenly.
• You can add a half cup of wheat germ for more nutrition
