Little flecks of sausage spread evenly in the bread. Always gone in one day – first it largely goes at breakfast, then the rest is toasted for snacks in the afternoon..
Sausage Bread
· 1 cup plus 2T water
· 4 to 5 ounces chicken precooked sausage patties, chopped
· 2 Tbs olive oil
· ¾ tsp salt
· 1 tsp Italian herbs
· 3 Tbs sugar
· 1 ½ cups bread flour
· 1 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or can use all bread flour)
· 2 tsp yeast
Night before:
Add all ingredients to your bread machine in the order listed. You can cook the bread at once, or set timer for your wake-up time in the morning.
Next morning:
.Slice, butter and enjoy. Really good toasted as well.
NOTES:
· Add ¼ cup cheese for more protein
· Apples or applesauce are a good accompaniment
