Sweet Cheese Toasties

Very easy, and have not yet found a child that does not love this.

Follow this link to the recipe:

Sweet Cheese Toasties
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or other favorites
  • ½ cup chopped dates
  • 1T wheat germ
  • ½ tsp nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)
  • Honey for drizzling

Night before:

Mix first 6 ingredients, and store in the refrigerator

Next morning:
Divide cheese mixture among the bread slices.
If you have a toaster oven, toast in that, otherwise broil in oven until cheese is starting to bubble
Drizzle with honey to taste

NOTES:
You may substitute dried cherries or blueberries or raising, but add 1T honey to the mixture, as the dates add sufficient
